Born and bred in Bedford, England, CK got involved with spinning vinyl from the age of 13. He started mixing house, garage and later hardcore – playing a variety of venues/illegal warehouse raves and forests as well as intimate house parties. His reputation grew within the hardcore scene, often playing on the same bill as SY, Breeze & Styles and Hixxy back in the day.
“My favourite set ever was the STS free party at Chicksands Woods. That was huge! There were hundreds and hundreds of people who followed the convoy waiting around for music to start. A police helicopter flying around, lighting up the place. I dropped Praga Khan – Injected With A Poison as the first tune. It was wild, I did an hour of oldskool and techno. It wasn’t long before there were 7 different sound systems set up around the forest.”
During the hardcore days he began to flirt with drum & bass and incorporated it into his sets, command a crowd of 1800+ people to go nuts. Hardcore promotors began to frown upon this and CK stuck his two fingers up in retaliation. He was addicted to drum & bass. He got involved with Breakneck in 2005, which turned out to be (and still is) Portsmouth’s number one drum & bass event. Playing alongside Adam F, Pendulum and TC to name a few, he became a well known fixture alongside the resident DJs SDM, Triple M and Charge.
After a quiet period of moving house and being acquainted with new surroundings he concentrated on the production side of music, delivering heartfelt dubstep tunes on the down low and various drum & bass tracks. He decided to start afresh under the guise of Sekklow.
An overwhelming response to his tracks (remixes and originals) online on Facebook, MySpace and Dubstepforum he was persuaded to step out and start DJing again. He continues to push forward with innovative production and DJ work.
